Player Development

Program Information

The primary focus of our soccer program is to provide a life-long enjoyment of the
game, and unrestricted access to players of all ages and abilities is paramount to its
success. By offering competitive and recreational leagues, everyone who wants to play, can
play. The use of our indoor facility allows year round enjoyment of the game for all ages.

The first introduction to soccer our under 4 players receive is through the Grassroots
Program. These first three stages of the Long Term Development Program are built around
small-sided games. Scores are not kept and there are no league standings. Active Start, for
U4-U5 emphasizes fun, rather than technique and activities change frequently in order to
maintain interest. FUNdamentals for U6-U8 introduces basic skills and includes fun
exercises with lots of movement. Learn To Train for U9-U12 recognizes that players are
developing a greater understanding of the game and their role in relation to a team.

With the onset of adolescence, the games become more competitive;recording
scores and league standings become a part of the game.Training To Train for U11-U15
females and U12-U15 males teaches more advanced soccer skills, while introducing
concepts like mental preparation, goal setting and coping with winning and losing. Players
then progress to the next level,Training To Compete, for U15/U19 females and U16-U20
males.Tactical awareness, discipline and mental toughness are developed and the game
format mimics adult play. Currently our youth program ends at the U17 age level, with a
number of players moving on to senior play in recreational, intermediate and senior leagues.
This final stage, Active For Life encompasses all ages and abilities. New players, seasoned
players, young or old, male and female, playing for fitness or fun or just a little competition
among friends. Whatever the reason, enjoyment of the game is at the center. We currently
operate a recreational league for 18+M/F, a senior men’s Challenge Cup team and a 35+M
Masters team.

There are presently no other senior competitive teams in our region. For this reason,
our program is open to all players in the area, and particular emphasis is put on our youth
program. When children learn the right skills at the right stage of development they become
more confident in their abilities and are more apt to develop a life-long love of the game
LTPD ensures the best possible soccer experience for every one who wants to participate in
the game. Whether you are a recreational player who just wants to have fun or one with
special talents, the program is designed to suit your expectations.
